There is growing unrest amongst urban youth as it relates to social injustice and religion. Many feel like the black church and the Christian faith has failed and does not relate because people with melanin in their skin aren’t represented as frequently and their issues often go ignored or lack adequate support. Dr. Umar Johnson is a leading voice in the Pan-American Resurgence amongst many people of color. In this video I provide an geographical, historical and scriptural response of the African contribution to philosophical, academic, social and theological engagement on a global scale and I put his “white Jesus money” in context.

I really appreciated your geographical, historical, and biblical critique of the idea that pan-Africanism is somehow inherently anti-Christian. Thank you so much. God’s blessings on you.

Watch the video clip above to see what else Dr. Umar Johnson had to say about what the African-American community needs to do to begin moving forward and how the Black community should band together to fight for their interests.
